& Fixings
There are many stone solutions, however the most practical and more commonly used acceptable solutions are shown below. These comply to standards set out in NZS 4210, NZS 3604 and NZS 2699. Other alternative solution proposals can be found on the STONECLAD website under 'Architects and Specifiers'.

150mm Stone
Cladding Solutions
150mm Stone Cladding is the most commonly used, and most cost effective, stone cladding solution. The two main installation types are over Masonry or to Timber Substrate. They each have their benefits and preferred areas for use as noted below.
We recommend and use STONECLAD Stainless Steel Stone Ties for all 150mm stonework.
Timber Substrate / Over Cavity
This is the preferred installation method for dwellings. It's weather tightness and great insulation capabilities makes it an excellent cladding choice for your home.
Masonry Substrate
An incredibly strong and cost effective solution. Often used for garages, outbuildings, landscape projects and gateways/entrances.
35mm Stone
Lightweight Cladding Solutions
35mm Lightweight Stone Cladding is a great option for when it is unsuitable or impossible to use 150mm stone. This is often in cases where stone is installed at height or in places where the foundations do not allow for additional loading.
NZS4210 provides the principal new build reference for veneer construction.
We use the STONECLAD solutions, attached in PDF format below.
Stone Clips
We exclusively use STONECLAD Stainless Steel Stone Clips for all our lightweight veneer stonework. These seismic resistant fixings were developed specifically to have superior bonding and holding strengths ensuring safety and longevity.
