Southern Stonemasons Canterbury worked with Wayne Murray Builders on this exceptional home. The residential project capitalised on the technical expertise and craftsmanship of our team to gain a premium finish. The end result was a beautiful blend of modern, clean lines and traditional natural-stone features, and the home won the House of the Year Gold Award.
The stone used is called Oxford Grey, a local basalt. The Oxford stone buttresses, which contrast with the cedar cladding, were constructed using a highly technical hand- chiselling technique, laid in a semi-dry style. Clean wooden lines contrast beautifully with the square stone laid in a random configuration. The beauty of the architectural home is the contrast in materials and lines.
Working as Registered Master Builder Associate Members means we work alongside some of the best tradesmen and women in the business. This project with Wayne Murray Builders allowed us to demonstrate some our most advanced technical skills and contribute to a stunning end result in this award-winning home.
